Stephen Hutton (veteran music executive) on Off The Charts

Introducing Artist Manager (Uppercut Management) and Music Executive Stephen Hutton! Stephen has managed diverse artists such as Kid Rock, Big Kenny (Big & Rich), Better Than Ezra, Pixie Lott, All That Remains, Seu Jorge, Meatloaf, The Heavy, Bebel Gilberto, Too Many Zooz, and many more!  Stephen also manages a small roster of producers and songwriters who have been responsible for numerous #1 singles.  Finally, in 2014 Stephen launched Fast Plastic Records, a new label established in partnership with eOne distribution (the US’s biggest independent distributor).

We begin the conversation with Stephen’s experiences and impact on Kid Rock during his 8 years managing the artist.  How does he feel about his former client now? We then talk about his time guiding British band The Heavy and their break-though hit “How Do You Like Me Now?”  Stephen is refreshingly honest in his opinions on artists he has worked with!  What is his #1 piece of advice to any up-and-coming artist? Bob Chiappardi and Stephen share stories of how they met and some of the wild times they had in the 90’s! Stephen also delves into his view of the current Chicago music scene and shares a shocking story about Blues Legend Son Seals!
