Feature Entertainers & Improving The Feature Experience

For the past few years the Feature Entertainer panel at the ED Publications Gentlemen’s Club Expo has provided valuable insight into maximizing the return on booking features. Additionally, it has given other industry professionals a look into the lifestyle that features live while on the road. The Feature experience can be improved with only a few simple changes to your club’s routine.

In 2015, Bill Love of Al’s Diamond Cabaret spoke in detail about how he prepares for the many features that his club books each year. They have so many performers booked each year that they have been able to streamline the process. This ensures that everything goes smoothly for both the club and the feature. One of the most interesting details that he shared was the email that he sends to features prior to their booking.

Many features walk into new bookings with very little information about the club that they are going to. They often don’t know basic details about the rules of the club. Who is picking them up from the airport and where they are staying? Having this sort of uncertainty means that in many cases they can’t adequately prepare for their performances. This causes miscommunications and mistakes to happen more frequently.

Bill explained the briefing that he sends to all features that prepares them with a lot of the information that they might require. This raised a lot of questions for seminar attendees-in a very positive manner! What information should every club be sending ahead of a booking?

H Winston Hines, partner and Marketing Director for SCORES in Mooresville, NC, was inspired by the panel to create an incredibly detailed briefing. He expanded on what an Entertainer needs to know and focused on what they would WANT to know. There is so much information that could be very beneficial to a performer working in a new club.

In order to make this information useful for our members and their clubs, we have taken his briefing and converted it to a template. This file contains questions, prompts, and placeholders that your club can fill with its own information. We hope that this resource is useful for you and helps to better communication between clubs and Feature Entertainers.
