Spend a few minutes with Ilan and you’ll instantly like the guy. He’s personable, smart, funny, and if you’ve ever heard him a microphone, you know he’s a damn good disc jockey. I always like it better when guys write their own bio. Sure it’s awkward, but we get to read how they revisit their past. Here’s what Ilan had to write about himself:
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1992. I started in The adult entertainment business as a barback in Phoenix, AZ at Christie’s Cabaret in 1995. I then was invited to work at the grand opening of Bare Elegance (BE) in Pittsburgh by Gary Marlin later that year also as a barback. It was there at BE That DJ Joey Ruggiero approached me about DJing. Thanks Joey for my first break, I had NO idea this would turn into a career!:) Over the next 5 years I bounced around quite a bit trying to learn from as many different DJ’s and managers as I could. I’ve had the good fortune to work and learn from John Hardin and some of the best Managers in the business including Gary Marlin & Bill Denniston (Bare Elegance, Pittsburgh), Bill Avery, Bryan Acker & Russell Benedetto (Pure Platinum AZ), Dennis DeGori (Club Paradise Las Vegas), Rob Caprio, and Randy Beasley (Pure Platinum Columbus, OH) to name a few. Of course these managers also brought with them some of the most talented DJ’s in the biz as well. In June of 2001 I took a Dj position here at Kahoots in Columbus OH and have been the resident DJ At Kahoots for the last 13+ years under GM Joe Vaillancourt and owner Joe Sullo.
